Duke of Edinburgh Bronze five out of five!
Duke of Edinburgh Bronze five out of five!
Thursday 28th and Friday 29th April 2016 5 of our FEC students completed their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award Expedition.
Their schedule consisted of many different aspects of which they have spent hours of training at school in preparation for this expedition. The students had to walk through thick mud ridden tracks for 3 hours each day. Sandwiched in between the two days of walking the students set up their tents, put out their bedding and cooked their own dinner on the trangias where Mr McPartland joined us for a catch up on their days walking and to see how they were finding the expedition, after a nights sleep in their tents it followed by waking up making breakfast and clearing camp.
Although the walking conditions were muddy and there were a couple of falls in the mud, we were lucky to have clear skies and no rain. All students were extremely high spirited and happy to help each other out. It was a fantastic couple of days and brilliant achievement for all!
Well done!
